Swatch: Water You Waiting For by China Glaze

I'm off on a 2 hour river cruise so what better polish to wear than Water You Waiting For by China Glaze!

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Water

It's filled with predominately blue glitter, with a sprinkling of smaller mint green glitter in there too, all suspended in a transparent dark blue polish. The photo above and below were taken in daylight where you can really see the individual glitters...

It's chock full of glitter which honestly ended up getting on my nerves, so in the end I added thinner to make application easier.  I did 2 coats, with 2 layers of topcoat as it does dry quite bumpy.  Here it is indoors where the sparkle and deep blue base colour take over...

An impressive, super sparkly blue polish.  The green glitter makes it extra special and I'm so happy I was able to capture it in a photo!

This is my first basic swatch blog post, if you enjoyed it let me know and I'll start taking more snaps of my collection.

Nail Polish Collection and Storage!

After a year of 'putting it off til the next time' I've FINALLY made my nail polish collection video!

I decided to do an in depth look at my polishes, storage ideas and swatches...if a job's worth doing it's worth doing well and all that.  Consequently I ended up with 2 hours of footage that's been edited down to 40 minutes, still bloody long but I guess it had to be.  I talked about different brands, swatching my collection, favourites, least favourites and acrylic paints.

So settle in, get a cuppa and some snacks and prepare to be suffocated under an avalanche of polishey goodness ;P

Fading Summer Garden Nail Art Tutorial with Konad Butterfly & Gradient

Today's design was inspired by an ident created for UK TV channel ITV3 (watch it HERE), a beautiful scene filled with leaves, flowers and butterflies.

Ombre Summer Flower Gradient with Butterfly

I've recreated it with an acrylic paint gradient, white leaves and flowers and a konad butterfly. It's not as hard as you may think, check out the video below to learn how to do it!

Items used:

White polish - Whirlwind White by Sally Hansen Insta-dry
Acrylic paints by FolkArt and DecoArt
Flakie polish - Pearl-spective by Color Club
Konad plate m20 and Konad White Special Polish
Seche Vite Topcoat (but I much prefer Poshe topcoat over stamping tbh)
Striper brush from an art store, detail brush part of a nail art brush set from ebay

Double Layered Shatter & Crackle Nail Art Ideas

Let's face it, shatter is SO 3 years ago and many of us have half used bottles lying around.  In an effort to fall back in love with them again I started playing around with them, and created some double layered crackle/shatter designs....and it worked!

Shatter polish ideas

I'm a little obsessed with creating new colour combinations and can't get enough of the look.  The grey/aqua/black combo is my current favourite, it's like a rock formation or camouflage.
